Where I stayed

Well Carmen and I managed to stay the night here at the hostel... this hostel is so very different from any hostel I have ever stayed at and the decision we took yesterday not to stay here for the end of our trip is a good decision!!!

The hostel has a kitchen that you cant use! Mind you food here is so cheap and the beer so cold we wouldn't cook anyway...

The noise is another thing... unlike others there is a time curfew for noise.. the owner here I think is laid back as people were jumping in the pool until 2am this morning... I never heard it but Carmen did... the walk into town involves you crossing over a bypass! With the traffic here... its not a good thing!

Anyway its time to move on and after our walk yesterday we have found the most gorgeous hotel in the heart of Sanur with lots to do and the beach!

So I'm sitting here at 6am taking advantage of not having the internet for the last few days and catch up on a few things and wait for Carmen to say shes ready for luxury!!  Until then....

Well we have arrived at the hotel... 8.30am... didn't even have a shower before leaving or clean my teeth... too much info I know but it wasn't good!  Not even the Chelsea FC bed cover worked for me!

This hotel is just stunning overlooking the gardens and pools, the room is gorgeous has 2 fridges, TV, DVD player and then some... unfortunately Carmen had a DVD of herself diving but dropped it on the floor and now it wont work so we will try to get a copy before she leaves.... I it would of been good to watch!

Shower and clean teeth and its time to explore... back later

We head straight out and find a nice little cafe for a spot of breakfast and a "proper" coffee... something that is very much hit and miss in Bali.  After here we headed to the many strip of shops and markets ready for some retail therapy and some bartering!!  I have to say it was 2.30pm before we stopped for a well deserved beer and lunch before continuing on our bargain hunt.  I cant begin to tell you how much Carmen has brought.. while I was more conservative... got to keep the weight down!!!

My bartering skills are now second to none with the locals also commenting that I have managed to buy things very very cheap... oh how I love Bali...

What better way to end an almost full day of shopping (really don't know where the time goes!) then a foot massage, pedicure and manicure... this spa was the best by far... the foot massage now exceeds all others I have had... both Carmen and I were so impressed... this time we both have flowers on each finger nail... its looks so cool!!!

Walking back towards the hotel we stumble upon a lovely organic restaurant that is the same company as the one we visited in Ubud... although no paddy fields... the food and drinks are amazing... I love the fact there is so much choice for a veggie like me!

10.30pm and we've been up since 6am and on the go ever since... a shower followed by a DVD that we brought again in Ubud...  what better way to end a full on hectic but fab day....

Back in our room and we have the beds turned down... which is just 5*, fresh towels and that little touch of class.... I am home!!
