Today I was supposed to check out but decided there was no point moving for one more night and the cost of a taxi (although cheap) so am taking advantage of the relaxing atmosphere here and  me doing nothing.. hmmmm doesn't make a great read but it will I'm sure get better when I start the tour tomorrow!!!

After breakfast I decide I'll make the effort and walk into town rather than taxi and have some exercise combined with a sauna affect caused by the heat!

The walk itself is disrupted by many people asking "passport" obviously the language barrier kicked in and after about the hundredth time I realise its transport!!! This is from guys in taxis but also moped-heads... as if... I've seen how they drive!! It gets annoying after awhile.

It's really quite strange that in every country I have visited there is always a McDonald's.. and this time a dunkin donuts too and no I visit neither!  After buying some mosquito spray (better late than never) I wander down a side street and am met with lots of tourists, cafes, bars, shops, souvenir's and the likes... the streets are vibrant and alive and it feels a good place to be.

I find a lovely little cafe called the glasshouse, this is a must stop for a bit of refueling!  The Banana smoothie was out of this world and I'm told so are the cakes... but I resisted!!

At the northern end of Jalan Pungutan, just before it hits Jalan Danau Tamblingan, there is an art market, sometimes referred to as  Sindhu market. This is a one stop shop for all manner of Balinese handicrafts, sarongs, t-shirts and knock-offs such as sunglasses and handbags!! A similar set up can also be found at beachfront at the end of Jalan Hangtuah. Here are a maze of stalls and the odd cafe.

I certainly got more than I bargained for, lots of hidden gems to see.  I'm so glad that I never research where I'm going or have that constant tourist guide by my side as you can be easily influenced on places to go and see as well as not bother with!  This way its always a surprise and 9/10 times a pleasant one.  Its great just to be able to do what you want when you want....freedom I think its called!!!

After a few hours I walk back to the home stay and head straight for the pool... I badly need to cool off.  I spend a couple of hours reading and tanning... I'm actually quite brown... love it!!!

I did get some extra swimming as my current book... well the pages come apart and the breeze took a couple of pages and very kindly placed them in the pool...

Overall again its been a lovely day and tonight I have my last supper at my favourite home stay before packing and getting ready for tomorrows adventure.... can't wait!!!
