The mosquitoes have had quite a feast over the past few hours and I have numerous bites and lots of places that need itching!!  The same thing happened in Fiji... for some reason they love my blood!!!   Unfortunately despite taking precautions I have bites on my hands, arms and legs.... not the best feeling in the world!!!  Lets hope my Fijian potions that I still have do the trick!!! (although I still suffered so probably not)

The mossies like to feast between 6am through to 8am and then again from 5pm to 7pm according to Mathias... so these hours may need to be avoided if at all possible!

I sit out in my courtyard and am greeted by the offer of breakfast being served to me and a choice of many different types... I settled for a fruit salad, toast and coffee and watch the world come to life.

Already at this hour the sun is bright and warm and I think it will be another relaxing day... I think you will agree that I'm taking it somewhat easy before my tour begins in 3 days time... then I guess it will be full on to taking in the Bali highlights and so I shouldn't feel guilty for doing nothing.

Today I plan to do nothing but read by the pool and top up the tan... yes its beginning to fade well I think it has although nearly everyone I met in Oz commented on my colour... I guess you get used to it but to me I need this top up!!

I am fully engrossed in my latest book although it will take some topping having just finished The Thousand Splendid Suns. A story by Afghan author Khaled Hosseini. It is his second, following his bestselling 2003 debut, The Kite Runner. The book focuses on the tumultuous lives of two Afghan women and how their lives cross each other, spanning from the 1960s to 2003.  I couldn't put it down and thanks to Miss Knapman that passed it on to me..  it raised all sorts of emotions and was a really good read.  I don't think I have ever read so much since being away... then again not working helps!!

I find I am the only one making use of the pool and the water is so warm... the sun is hot and I can't or won't go into anymore detail of the sweat!!!  On the plus it stops me thinking of my bites!!

Having spoken to Mathias and Florence about how they cope with it they have recommended a spray so perhaps tomorrow I'll find it....  every little helps..... unless that only applies to Tesco!

Time is going so quickly surprisingly when doing absolutely nothing and before long its early evening and I manage to catch my mum at home... we speak for an hour and a half and it was so good to hear her voice and catch up on all the latest news.

I then find myself thinking of food (yes its that time again...  :) )  although it has to be said being so hot I don't really think about it that much.... honest its true... as much as I would like to be a size zero on my return... its just not going to happen!!  Mathias asks me what I would like and again offers to go and get it...  what would I do without them and it saves my legs or a taxi ride....  again nothing is too much trouble for this couple and I cannot speak highly enough of their home stay.  It only opened in July of this year and already the reviews are outstanding to which I will add my own.

There is then a knock at my door and Mathias brings me a can of mosquito spray the strongest there is as he is concerned that I'm being bitten... bless him. Yes I will spare you all the pictures!

Next he brings me dinner... honestly I feel somewhat spoilt!!! This is 5* service.

I take advantage of my TV and watch a couple of movies, MTV and the BBC world news.... it's good at last to see what's going on in the world other than the place I'm at.
