There were student protests again today, and work sent around an email in the morning to tell everyone to stay inside and not to go down to the ground floor. We couldn't see too much happening on Stanley Street from our windows except for 9 police across the street. After a bit security let us leave the building again.
Isma turned up early for our French lesson at Rio Tinto just after 5, which was good because I wanted to leave early at 7 anyway. The lesson went fairly well, we did lots of exercises and some vocabulary
I walked back to Place Des Arts metro and met Trish there and we caught the train to Berri-UQAM. The place we were meeting Vincent, "Juliette & Chocolate", was just down the street a little bit from the metro. There were lots of police around the metro station too, not sure what was going on there.
We met Vincent who is our cousins husbands brother! Confusing much? The restaurant was very busy and we had to wait a little bit for a table. Their speciality was obviously chocolate and sweets, but they also did savory meals. Trish and I both had the ham, cheese and spinach buckwheat crepe, and "the sundae" for dessert. It had banana, strawberries, icecream, cream and broken up cookie in it, yum!
What a small world when you can meet up with people through connections in Australia in Montreal! A nice night! After dinner we headed back to the apartment on the Metro.
