Where I stayed
I met back up with Jen here in Noosa at the lovely Halse Lodge YHA. It's a huge & v old wooden building with great, cheap home-cooked meals, 2 tv rooms and a lovely cosy setting. I also overlap for a night with my friend Kath who I met on Kangaroo Island back when I was in Adelaide.....this was v exciting as it's been several months since we've seen each other. To celebrate we had a big night out with some others from the hostel. Unfortunately I ended up with a drunken injury...oh the joys of flip flops...i trod on some glass and managed to slice the end of my toe....much to the amusement of the bouncer on the door, who then called me 'hoppy' all night as i couldn'ty walk on it!!
Anyway...Noosa is gorgeous. It's quite a wealthy place. Lots of celebs/rich people have 2nd homes here. the beach is so long, and the nearly Noosa National Park has a beautiful Coastal track walk which I did one morning. I did encounter a couple of Goannas (huge, fat lizard things that slither through the grass like snakes!) but the views made it so worth while. WHen I got the 'Hell's Gate' at the Peninsula the view is specatular. I even saw a pod of about 15 dolphins swimming past....you really can't beat that - seeing them in the wild gliding along. One of them even did a little jump out of the water for us!!
Most of my time in Noosa was spent on the beach. It's lovely here.... We sat and watched the sunset from the beach on our final night.
