So, I made it to the Isle of Skye, over the bridge that connects it to mainland Scotland. As there are no toll roads in Scotland anymore, you don't have to pay to use the bridge, despite what your SatNav tells you.
The first place I saw on the Isle of Skye was a hostel, and tempted though I was by its funny name (Saucy Mary's Hostel), I decided to just drive around and decide later if I was going to stay the night on the island. So off I set, driving the whole way round the island, via Portree; Uig etc. It was so beautiful!!! I even saw a Heelin' Coo! (Highland Cow) It surprised me, as it was just round a corner on a windy road, so I wasn't able to get a picture, but at that point I was sure I'd see loads more - I didn't :( But it was a really cool cow - all that floppy ginger hair, ha ha ha!!
It took me the whole day to go around the island, but it was worth it, as it was so beautiful - I wished I had more time, but I was glad I had seen it. I decided to head off the island in the end, and get myself to Drumnadrochit - my base for the Nessie spotting extravaganza!! How exciting!!!
