My dad took me on a wee trip to Ayr just before I left Scotland again to start my new job. We were going to go to Millport for the day and cycle round, but I think it was a bank holiday or something, so the place was heaving, and there were massive queues to get the ferry, so we just went further down the coast instead.

Ayr is a lovely little town. We used to come here 'when I was wee' (or wee'er, depending on how you look at it!) It's changed loads though, and I couldn't believe how many funfair things there were for kids now - I tell you..."in my day..." lol!
