Where I stayed
Me and the girls headed to Aviemore for my friend Marion's 30th birthday celebration. We were all supposed to meet in Perth and go the rest of the way in 2 cars, but I missed my bus, but managed to be first to arrive anyway, by taking the train instead! It's fairly easy to get there by any public transport at the last minute! However, if you book in advance on the internet it is cheaper - see my travel links on my Starter Kit for Scotland (link on the front page) - just don't miss your bus!
Aviemore is so pretty, with the snow covered Cairngorm mountains as a backdrop, creating wonderful scenery. It's also a place you can go skiing and snowboarding in the winter (NB. We were there mid-April and there was still a lot of snow to be had!), but we weren't there for the snow sports, we were there to catch up, and eat and drink ourselves into oblivion. We exceeded ourselves on all counts!
