First off and most importantly, today it was SUNNY!!!!! NO RAIN! IT WAS GORGEOUS! :) Okay anyways, today I went to Intro to Music in Modern Ireland at 10am. I didn't really like the professor that much and when they talk about "Modern Ireland" the music seems exactly the same as traditional Irish music... so I'm going to take the other music course instead of this one. Then I made my way to the second religions class. I was still on the fence so I gave the second professor a try. But as he was talking he lost me completely sooo, that class is a no-go. It's a good thing I'm a nursing major because philosophy is NOT for me (Grandpa H will LOVE that). I would have Anatomy on Tuesday's also, but that doesn't start until the second week of February, so for now I have a break until my next class, Folklore, so we hung out in the student center. Next was Folklore, which is offered to only visiting students. It was in a huge lecture hall because there were alot of us, and it was actually very interesting! The professor has a very strong Irish accent, so it was hard to understand him at times, but it wasn't too bad after a while because I got used to it.  Going in I didn't know exactly what Folklore was, but basically it's the "doings and sayings of the ordinary people." It seems like it's going to be a very cool class talking about all of the traditions and festivals of Ireland, which is really cool :) After class I came back to the dorms and took a nap for about an hour and a half before going to the next class and last class of the day. This class was Intro to Irish History, which is really cool. After taking US history I am actually more interested in history, so it's a cool class! We just did an introduction, but basically the professor got his point across... they wanted the english OUT of Ireland haha after class we came back and made dinner. Tonight we had balsamic glazed chicken with rice. It was really good! After dinner we started getting ready to go out! (Now bear with me while I explain this!) The Irish typically go out on Tuesday and Thursday and then go home on the weekends. So, we're trying it. (Also, I don't have classes on Wednesday until February, so don't worry!) First, we met up with a few other QU people and walked to the Washington Inn. When we got there it was CRAZY. The Irish are CRAZY. They were dancing on the tables that we saw people eating dinner on not 3 hours before! It was insaneeee! Then, it closed at midnight so we went to another pub, Bailey's, across the street. We met some other Americans there. Some from Boston College and some from Pennsylvania. We also talked to some Irish girls, who were really nice! Then we came back and made pancakes from scratch! It was a fun night, but we were all exhausted and ready for bed after our pancakes :) (Thankfully we can sleep in tomorrow!)
