Nowhere near ready of course but all keyed up, so excited.
Deo volente this time next week we'll be on our way to Clédat, France. It has been too long, I will be counting the days - I have missed that little corner of the world, my sanctuary, and now it is coming close I suddenly can't bear to wait a moment longer.
Well, I must, and I'll be needing the next 6 days to prepare because after France, the end of June, it'll be straight on to North-East England, where my sisters and I were born and grew up - we intend to walk some 80 miles along Hadrian's Wall, a lot of that up hill so that'll be quite a challenge for the four of us old girls.
Specially as we will be gabbing non-stop.
Our dear friend and old neighbour Alan Taylor will try and be there for a bit, to support us (check out the pubs), administer first aid (kiss our blisters better) and stay sober enough to drive our stuff around - if we actually manage to walk from one place to the next, that is.
Oh Alan, just kidding, really hope you can make it and I promise we will let you watch all the soccer you want, we will sit meekly with you at the bar, nursing our ciders, and you just tell us when to cheer.
I know, bad timing and we'll forgive you if you'd rather stay home with your mates. Hey, bring your mates - now that's a thought.......:)
After that it'll be touch base at Amsterdam, back to France and on to South Africa for some months - that'll keep me busy for the best part of the year..
So I hope to see you here, surely there will be a story or two to tell.
