As we drove, the day was sunny and clear but our journey was slowed by the road construction on highway ....Sometimes we felt that we were on the wrong side of the road.
We had amazing vistas to the north of the snow that had fallen as forecasted and painted the Pyrenees peaks shimmering white!

We stopped at a lovely little town for coffee and pastry.

The Costa Brava is the eastern holiday coast of Spain, north of Barcelona and reaching the French border; our main reason for visting the area was the Salvador Dali Theatre Museum in Figueres and to explore some of the lovely seaside towns such as Cadaques as well as Girona more inland. Because we still had the car, accommodation in Girona was impractical because of parking so we had chosen an airbnb property in Calonge, a small town just 5kms from the beach.

The house was huge and Kath kept calling it a "Hacienda"; our hosts Alex and Jorgelina met us on arrival and we parked the car in a garage for the first time! We had a lovely room with our own bathroom overlooking the forested hills.

Even though the evening was cool and damp, we decided to drive to the nearest beach, Palamos to have dinner. Our GPS led us through some very narrow lanes and when we eventually found a parking space, we set about choosing a restaurant- not too easy because it was early, because many were closed and because it was a very touristy area.We didn't like Palamos at all but dinner was quite good.

We spent four days exploring this attractive area

Me gustó La Hacienda, en verdad es super. Kenya me recuerda a
Saibon. Tremenda casa donde se hospedaron. Los Pirineos se ven
espectaculares. Besos y bendiciones, mami
