We stayed overnight at Covas, beach side of Viveiro, and spent the morning exploring the old area of Viveiro.
Then back to the coast on the highway, travelling up to 120 kms ph. and the coastal roads to Ribadeo.
We had been told that Cathedral Beach was a must- to walk the "cathedrals" rocks exposed at low tide! So we left the highway and joined the quite large crowd to do just that. Not that impressive we thought!
The Lonely Planet must see was more compelling:
The Beach of Silence was the most unexpectedly high cliff view of a beach far below and Kath was close to scared as Sheila negotiated the narrow gravel road fearing any oncoming traffic; she calmed when she noticed it had become a one way trail! The view down to the beach was amazing but the trek down looked challenging and it was getting late.
Cudillero was our last stop and turned out to be the most gorgeous little fishing village we had come across yet. Houses, in all shades of pastel set into the mountain side all the way down to the sea, a lighthouse and lots of cafes and bars; a tourist mecca in the summer but still quiet on our visit. We parked and walked down to the port and admired the architecture and pretty lanes.
Next stop Gijon where our hosts Vanessa and Alvaro greeted us on arrival at 8pm.

Beautiful pics, girls.
I was in Cudilleros a few years ago with Carlos and I rememember the village as a nice place.
An the food, how do you like it there? I bet it´s better than in southern Spain...
Se vé todo tan bonito e impresionante. Las casas pintadas en tan bellos
colores pasteles se ven preciosas. La Cathedral Rock y la Playa del Silencio
más esa vista es espectácular. Cuando hablemos me gustaría me contaras
lo que las asustó un poco. Bendiciones y besos, mami
