WEDNESDAY JANUARY 12
JOURNEY: Bunbury to Perth
WEATHER: Hot and sunny
ACCOMMODATION: Cousin Sally's place
During our previous stay in Perth, we had discussed helping Sally renovate her garden, so we arrived a few days before Kath's sister Maggie and partner Greg arrived from Adelaide and got to work.
Everyone enjoyed a week of touring and exploring; especially great was lunch at cousin Jeans where we caught up with family and enjoyed a delicious lunch and celebrated cousin Tony's birthday.
Another load of mulch arrived - 3 cubic metres and with all hands to the task we completed the whole thing in an hour and then it was into the pool for a cooling dip.
We all enjoyed our time together with a trip to Rottnest Island and Sally's holiday house at Binningup included in the busy itinery.
Australia Day was celebrated at home with the cricket and tennis on TV, as well as packing and cleaning for our journey south.
Sheila needs to replace her Keen sandals tomorrow ( the toe caps came unstuck after less than 6 months) and we received a refund from Anaconda who did not have correct size. Kath is looking at cameras because our tried and trusty Canon Power Shot is hiccupping after a soft drink was spilled on it at Lucky Bay; we had no idea that Canon has a huge range of auto digital cameras and the advice from camera shops varies greatly!!!
So January 27 2011 sees us back on the road again and we hope to meet up with the fabulous Thompson family around Margaret River.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !
Friends and family in Queensland are always on our minds and hearing that Brisbane city is "sad and smelly" made us feel sorry. Hopefully everything will be fresh and renovated as soon as possible and people will be able to get back to normal!!
