HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHEILA
SUNDAY DECEMBER 27
Starting out this morning, the battery died in Mick's truck and we were happy that the service station was just down the road and the very kind proprietor, Ron lent us a battery and jumper leads to get the vehicle started and to his shop. Three other flat batteries that morning and we were all laughing at the coincidence of it as we awaited our turn! Anyhow, we had to buy a new battery for the truck and spent time catching up with local stories from other customers with dead batteries. No idea what we would have done if we were parked in a remote place with a dead battery! Patrick and Truus were relieved it happened today and not tomorrow on the way to the Hobart airport!
TAHUNE FOREST RESERVE AND AIR WALK
Probably a bit too touristy and the area is managed by Tasmania Forestry so I would imagine most of the forest is made up of re-growth plantations although there are some huge old trees there. The entry fee is $25 and the 600 metre air walk is impressive and you get a bird’s eye view of the forest, 25 metres above the ground.
We enjoyed the Huon Pine Track on the ground along the Huon River where we learned the history of this remarkable giant of a tree found only in Tasmania.
The Swinging Bridges over the Huon and Picton Rivers give great perspectives of the rivers and we appreciated the experience.
This tourist attraction is very popular and Sheila found the long winding road of 3okms a bit frustrating especially when we were stuck behind a driver in a rented small bus who slowed to stop each time he encountered oncoming traffic.

A belated happy birthday, Sheila. Even computers don't keep me up to date. Guess they would if I went near them more often. X Cheryl
Hey Sheils - HAPPY BIRTHDAY - I have been slack in keeping up with your blog since late Nov.
Ross and I have talked about going to Tassie again but for a range of reasons haven't go there (it was our first trip away together much to my Mother's disgust). Your blog makes me seriously want to go.
