Three years ago we had visited San Francisco and loved it. The experience was swayed by the culinary delights of Hunan Home's (a chinese restaurant) and Sears (a great American breakfast classic). With another year passing for yours truly, my birthday was great excuse to pass on the lounge food and splash out.
Meeting up with an old school friend, Yngve and his partner, Ragnhild, made it even more pleasant. At the end of the Chinese meal, we all received our fortune cookies. However, not entirely satisfied with the predictions held within, Kath and I visited a fortune cookie factory the next day to buy a bag full of them to get a more 'rounded' view of our fortunes. As a result we have now been assured of friends and riches...
Leaving San Francisco was strange. For a considerable time we had been hugging the Pacific coastlines in various countries. Getting up early for a cross-country train journey to the other side of the US, we now felt we were truly heading home...
