Saturday 2nd June

Continued...

So I got the 12.15 bus to Ulcinj and arrived at 3pm after gorgeous scenery past Budva, Sveti Stephan (the place I wanted to go but can’t) and Bar (another seaside town).  I then got a taxi to the apartment area where the taxi driver kindly helped me choose a good one by translating and negotiating with the owners and checking that the room was ok. I gave him a 2euro tip for his help (probably spent an extra 20mins going through about 4 apartment buildings) and he was very happy.   So in the end I paid about 25euro for an apartment with big bed, ensuite, kitchen and amazing views over the beach. After settling in I wandered down to the beach which was a fair way away (not that far but the way down was via the roads which was a windey track. I got to the beach and wandered along in afew times, it’s a nice beach with more sand than pebbles and a lot of people with deckchairs and umbrellas and a lot of shops lining the street behind it.      I then walked up through the main shopping street (where I finally found an ATM – they aren’t that common here , and a supermarket for dinner) which took me into the main town where I walked back to the hostel (a pretty steep tough walk but it was ok coz I had an icecream!).  I got back to the apartment and watched some tv (in english yay), did some organising and blogging, showered and repacked and made some more tuna pasta for dinner.   After dinner I went up one floor to the roof where I watched the beautiful sunset over the old town and the ocean.  Afterwards I did more of the same as before until I fell asleep.

Sunday 3rd June

Woke this morning to a gorgeous view which was a nice change (to the inside of a hostel room). I had reheated pasta for breaky while watching finding nemo on tv. The rest of the morning was spent blogging and sorting out stuff until about midday when it was time to head off to the bus station. I paid the owners and after a bit of hassle was finally able to call a taxi (my phone had no service and the lady at the hostel had no credit). The other owner came back and called the same taxi guy from the day before so it was easy enough to get back to the bus station in time.
