Friday 1st June

Woke up fairly early this morning (being 8am), went out for a walk to get some cash and some breaky then packed up my stuff, and headed to bus station, once again a lone traveller. I got a bus (which left an hour late) to Kotor in Montenagro where I arrived 2.5 hours later after some beautiful scenery around the bay.

I easily found the hostel in the old town which was nice but after checking in changed rooms as my original one was pretty crowded and rowdy (however they changed my room easily for no extra charge and it was much quieter).  I then went and wandered the old town a bit which is cute, went to the supermarket to grab stuff for dinner, bought and sent some postcards and ate a Panini for lunch by the bay.  I then went back to the hostel to relax for a while where I met a girl I had met in Mostar who was now with her sister.  So after a while we all headed up the fortress that overlooks the town and the bay.  The walk involves a steep 1500 odd steps (some of which can't really be counted as steps anymore) through the bush in the sun, so basically it was a very tough walk, but the effort was rewarded with the beautiful view.  After getting our breath back, resting and admiring the view we headed back down and back to the hostel.

Here I took a shower and made some tuna and vege pasta for dinner which I ate while watching the Big Bang Theory on my computer which was nice and homely.  After this I just chilled in the hostel on my computer before heading to bed.

Saturday 2nd June

Slept in a bit this morning and then and wandered the town some more as well as doing some research on what I should do next.  I was tossing up between staying in Budva (a town 30mins south of Kotor) or heading down to Ulcinj (the southern most town in Montenagro which is more of an Albanian town).  I decided on Ulcinj as the hostel guy said Budva wasn’t that great and the main place I wanted to see from Budva wasn’t accessible to the public (unless you paid over 100euro for a lunch).  To be continued...
