This week has been hectic, to say the least.
We are approaching our last two weeks of school. Involved is our final projects, papers, essays, journals, etc. This was the last week of museum visits and program field trips! (thank you UL).
Next week we head out to Poitiers/Loire valley for a weekend of more chateaus and LA PLAGE! (finally) a La Rochelle.
Again, hectic week. Working between a study of Camille Claudel's flesh studies in conjunction with the work of Lucian Freud along with a paper on Jean Fautrier, French painter ( 1898-1964).
I am also working on assemblage and sculpture in response to the surrealist literature/filmwork/art production of Breton, Dali, Duchamp, Bunuel, the group who started the surrealist movement in the early 20 century. Will post images closer to final production.
The SUN HAS FINALLY ARRIVED in Paris and I am soaking it up, walking all over the city, and feeling more excited about the travel that is to follow the program. As of now the plan is to set up camp at Clemens' (our fantastic host in Amsterdam) home and go camping on the shore of the North Sea or in one of the beautiful camping meccas of Holland.
Hope you are all doing great and enjoying the especially hot? Louisiana summer.
Love and miss you dearly. (along with home, my boat, the weather, swimming, bikes!!)
Kate
