Chantilly.
A small area about 40 km, 25 min by train, from Paris.
Chantilly is traditionally a horse racing community, also host a Chateau that dates back 10 k years and has only been owned by four families before being donated to the Institute of France..for educational/tourism purposes.
I apologize for the large amount of picture that you are about to see of trees...but, these grounds...they were unreal. I spent the better part of an afternoon exploring them.
I also spent some time exploring the city also..and found myself in a horse racing betting joint ( I was just looking for coffee)...but, I met some very nice townspeople and over all finally got some hiking in!.
