We stopped half way up the east coast of Malaysia in a little holiday resort called Cherating.

We weren't overwhelmed by the standard of accommodation butit was realtivly cheap and with air conditioning. We planned for a few days there but decided on just one after half a days sunbathing so booked abusup to Kota Bharu to the perhintians.

It was only when we were on the bus and noone else with backpacks were going to Kota Bharu did we decide to check our lonely planet and realise we were going to the wrong place to reach the Perhentian Islands. luckily we realised before going 2 hours too far north and got off with the others and borrowed their taxi and also their boat arriving at the islands a day earlier than planned.
