We stayed with my friend Jan, who I also met on my travels in 2004, on the Kailas trip. Her flat is right in downtown London, very near the Tower Bridge. It’s hard to imagine actually living in such a location, within easy walking distance of all these famous sights. We only had Friday night and Saturday, and both Bill and I had been to London before – long ago, but we’d done some of the normal tourist things already. So, we chose to spend Sat. afternoon at the British Museum, which neither of us had seen. Jan and Phil, my other London friend who owns/runs/basically IS the travel company I went to Kailas with, took us to Soho for drinks and dinner on Friday. We walked all over, got to mingle with the trendy crowd, and had a great time. Sunday early, it was out to Heathrow and home.
So, a good time was had by all, and I have developed a taste for single malt now that I’ve tried a bunch of different ones!
