Tuesday night, having a wonderful, yummy, quiet dinner made by Chef John - he has had amazing success diving into Chinese cooking with local ingredients - and explosions began erupting right outside our window. We've heard fireworks in the distance many times, but this was right on top of us! Huge cherry blossoms in red, white and green, all exploding in fast succession. It was quite the show - a show coming from 2 doors away! Bear in mind that these explosions are going off just above rooftop level. Our windows were rattling. I stepped outside the door, all of 8 feet and took the video below. Wonder if you get firework insurance for when a neighbour lights your house on fire? Doubt it:-) We have since found out that those fireworks would have been set of because of a wedding.
