Arequipa is a beautiful town - very Spanish, with a lovely plaza, cathedral and fountains. But was feeling quite lazy whilst there so didn't do a huge amount. The weather was good so I mooched around, ate ice cream, tried the coca leaves (not great if you're interested - taste grim and make your mouth go numb, a bit like nasty cloves) had too much to drink on Choo-Hyong's birthday and danced with the locals. The highlights of Arequipa were probably the Santa Catalina convent which was much more colourful than I imagined a convent to be. It was a bit like a Spanish or Italian town within the city. That, and Gilly getting herself on Peruvian TV giving her opinion about the state of road crossings!
No food highlights I'm afraid.
