Hey there everyone, what a blast that cruise ship is...I mean wow.

Now it is onward to Mexico...Cozumel and Playa del Carmen....love it.

It is an interesting place Mexico - for if you have been here then you will understand precisely what I mean.  It is a contrast of two worlds...the island of Cozumel was pretty affluent, meaning big stores, nice accommodations and overall cleanliness but still with a good ole hometown Mexican feel to it. But traverse to the mainland and it is a completely different story - huts for homes made out of mud and clay, dirt/mud roads and poor begging children everywhere the eye can see....make sure to strap your essentials to you if you did not wish to be pick-pocketed - still with this said, it was a pleasant experience and the people of Mexico are quite friendly.

This was my third time in Mexico - first time in this region and they are all similar so I knew what to expect.
The prices were - yep guessed it - pretty amazing and when you walked into a grocery store, oh my the stores were massive, like the size of a Costco here and everything was so inexpensive.  put it this way - a 2L of po was  less than a dollar...that is right. and a lot of things were like that.

We were tempted to purchase food in the grocery store and make a picnic of it but the restaurants were also inexpensive so we ventured on our own and did a stroll through the city - we must have walked for about 5 km and saw all sorts of things, a nice beach, a shopping district, good restaurants (we finally decided to stop in on one and it was fantabulous)...

The one thing we did notice was a lot of old 60s/70s and 80s cars with little to no rust on them, they were impeccable - and why shouldn't they be - Winter is not something they know of down here - I mean it is late October and the temperatures were hovering around the 30C mark...nice and hot - we loved it.

Aside from the shopping, there were specialty tours everywhere, from shark hunting to speed catamarans etc...but we were in the mood for shopping as we were going to do fun things in Jamaica in a few days hence.

Joshua loved the bargains and kept stating, "mom, can you believe the price of this" or Mom, "how come this is so cheap and we pay like way more"  it was cute to hear.  He was a good shopper and he got himself a bunch of things but he seemed to be the most excited about a pair of sunglasses for which he actually bartered the guy down to $5 Cdn but lots in their Mexican Peso....not sure the exact amount...the seller  kept looking at me and I said, nope, sorry, it is his money so you deal with him - that made him soooo proud and me a very proud mama....my baby was growing up...

We loved the hospitality of the Mexican people.  I will be visiting again Mexico - more on the mainland as I had my previous times here - Mexico city is the only place I really do not like as it is soo crowded - I believe they stated it is one of the largest metropolitan centers in the entire world...ok, that is for another trip (even though I have been there already).

Ok everyone - back on board after an entire 15 hours in Mexico and a lot of fun...

See you in Ochos Rios, Jamaica...oh yes...
