We took an early flight to Bocas del Toro in a bid to save some of our precious time (now just a little under 5 weeks to make it to Mexico City for our flight home).

We had decided to stay on Isla Bastimentos which is quieter and more rustic than the main island Colon, and took a water taxi straight out there. After finding a room Tio Toms, a lovely guesthouse overlooking the water, we set off on a day trip to explore the area along with the 2 american girls we met on our flight, and 3 other blokes (English, Dutch and Swiss). Firstly we went to spot Dolphins before going to Coral Caye for some snorkeling. The reef had really vivid colours and was some of the best we've ever seen. After lunch we went to Red Frog Beach, an idyllic beach with white sand and aqua blue water and so named for the red frogs which live there. After spending a couple of hours chilling on the beach we went to another snorkeling spot, hospital point.

In the evening we met up with the guys from our trip and went to 'ladies night' (free drinks for girls!) at a bar/club bilt on stilts over the sea called Aqua Lounge. Cheesy but fun especially the diving board off the roof!

The next 2 days were more chilled, we relaxed in the hammocks and on both days we walked over the island through jungle to a lovely cafe in the middle of the island run by a scottish lady for amazing home made chocolate brownies and truffles (made from home grown cocoa) before continung onto 'wizzard beach' another idyllic beach.
