To get out of bangkok was aw sum, but  like the well organized people we are not we had to wait at bangkok train st for 10 hrs!!!
then we had to Bord a v guarded train for 14 hrs up to Chang Mai,
We were on 2nd class sets so well uncumfy but it had to do so between sleeping on the floor or on the seat we chugged in to the station,
A good mate of mine Ian had recommended a backpackers we went strait to and got a room .
The lady who owns it told us about the treks they do and we booked on one for 2 days later,
Chang Mai was so much nicer than Bangkok still crowded but not so hectic,
We got up Earlie on the morning of the trip all packed and rearing to go ,our  1st stop was to go up north in the van then trek to the water fall which was real steep but beautifully,
Then the real trekking began ,we trekked up and up the mountains and down again passing some beautiful sights on the way ,proper jungle ,we reached 1st camp 6 ish and was totally pooped.
We say ed at a proper village tribe hut with the village people.to see these people you feel lucky were you come from although they properly have a very stress free life its hard wk.
To have my first green curry mm mm, the to bed well to the room we shared with our groupe but well needed.
Woke Earlie the nxt day to trek another 3hrs  to the elephant camp, feeling ok,so good to get there.
Had lunch then got on board our elles i shared with Jane ,it was aw sum as our Elle had a baby with it and keep growling to it to keep up.so me and Jane laughed as always down the river on this huge eel to 2nd eve base camp
Well it loomed out of nowhere bug high bamboo tree houses on stilts were we happily slept for the eve ,
To get up In the morning we were bamboo rafting down the river bk to base camp.
Well Jane NRA peed her pants as she has a level 2 in poling so was well up for taking us down the river.
Well let me just say all the boats were was 10 bamboo s lashed together, the a place to put ur bag and a pole at the fron t to steer and at the back to push, i was well up the front holding on as Jane has put their Hebe gebes in to me if i fell in i would get elephants!!
It was a amazing trip down the river a few big rapids but made it fine passing huge banana forests, and vines trees real pretty.
To get bk to civilization was good tough, and no more boild rice  eva!
