Apparently my Dad has talked to Dorota and suddenly he's concerned with my health. I kept telling him all day yesterday that I wasn't feeling 100% and was congested. Somehow me telling Dorota made it into a situation. Anyway. We go to H&M first thing when it opens so I can return my stuff and I was looking at a sweater at C&M. I also told my dad about some good sales on cords for him. So we go shopping for a bit and suddenly he gets annoyed and I have no sweater and he has no new pants. Whatever...
We go back to stare miasto (I now have been to Stare Miasto for 4 days in a row) and go to the office in question with no ticketing system. The rest of the buidling is on an electronic number system. Just not the office that I need. Luckily there's only 1 person in front of us. Sweet. We wait, and wait and wait. The woemn that's in the office already is of the eldery variety. I've noticed they take the longest. I really think they go in there just to talk to the office people. Finally my/our turn. We turn in the photocopies and 5 minutes later.. done.. Now the waiting.
From here we go to this music academy where Dad buys some concert tickets sfor him and Isabella.
Next stop we make a mad dash to Jozesefowa area where the condo my Dad bought is being built. We have to walk 4 blocks to catch a tram for 2 stops to catch the Metro to catch this special Roy bus that will drop us off in front of Dad's condo. We miss it by 10 minutes. Than we miss the city bus that takes us close to the condo because they moved the stop. Damn this is a pain and it's freaking cold out. I even tell Dad it feels like snow is coming. I am not prepared clothing wise for all of this. Luckily I had bought a scarf in Granada and bought a new long sleeve thermal at H&M the other day. Besides the long sleeve shirt that Melissa gave me some time ago needs a much needed break from use. Still, freaking cold. We wait for the 709 to get us to Auchan. Damn this bus gets packed fast but we score seats. Sweet. We get to Auchan and walk 20 minutes uphill in the snow both ways to get to the condo. Okay I exxagerate. It's mostly the wind that's getting to me. Dad gives me this hat/boggen thing that normally attaches to his jacket so at least my head is warmer. It helps. We FINALLY get to Kszieshisowa and walk around. Progres has occurred in the last 6 months. Next thing I know Dad's on the phone calling Izabella. Umm.. hello.. cell phone etiquette. Are you showing me the condo or am I an accessory? I have to teach Dad some cell phone etiquette. He's never had one before. After a while I am just absolutely annoyed and wait for him on the Roi bus bench while he does what he needs to do. He than tells me he had to confer with her and the foreman about crap. Fine, but tell me in advance not suddenly you're on the phone and I'm left standing there looking like a jack ass. He finally apologizes and we go thru the house. It's looking good. It's really almost a 2 story place because he has converted this half storage room on the ground floor to an office area with a bathroom. The main part of the house is upstairs where there is a den, bedroom, living room and a small kitchen. Not bad size for Europe. Oh I should back up. So these are townhouse looking structures. For ever 2 "houses" you share the garage with your neighbor and on the ground floor that's where the storage areas are.
From here we walk the 20 minutes back to Auchan. We get there and I kid you not, it's starts snowing. What the?? Again 2 weeks ago I was on the beach. I skipped out on fall in all it's entirety. I went from summer to a wee bit of fall (4 days in Polska) to now I'm in winter. When I get back to the states, I'll be going from December in Georgia to X-mas in New York. Damn will my body not be happy with me. I digress.
We buy lots of yummy food, I pack my ruck sack with the heavier items and we go play in the snow to walk to the bus stop that will take up to the tram that will take us home. Good times. One of the things we purchased were spinach pierogis which we dine on along with some left over cabbage/mushroom pierogis.
I call my peoples to get the cousins's's numbers and give one set a call. Saturday with Yvonka. Done. Rafal.. well I'm just not in the mood to call back to get the correct number. His cell number keeps sending me to a fax machine.
For all of your enjoyment.. I blog away..
