LAX --> SFO

Sitting in SFO for my first layover of a long 27 hour journey to Bangkok. The first plane smelled a bit like a sewer, but nobody sat in the middle
seat and it was only an hour long, so I can't complain too much. I'm just happy the plane landed alright. I've always been most terrified of the landing portion, and the crash a few weeks back at SFO didn't help matters at all. I have 16 total flights planned for the duration of my trip, so hopefully my fears will subside soon.

Now I'm just waiting for Mallory's flight to land at SFO. Our flights line up after this, so at least I'll have someone to talk to. In the meantime, I decided to treat myself to a big breakfast here... mistake #1. Menu descriptions always look better than they taste in airport restaurants. One day I'll learn that lesson.

I'm excited to do some non-law-related reading on this trip! Borrowed some books from Briana and got some recommendations from Ryan and my aunt Kathy. Here's the list:

White Teeth by Zadie Smith
Ham on Rye by Charles Bukowski
Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides
Wild by Cheryl Strayed
The Nine by Jeffrey Toobin (...Okay, so maybe they're not all non-law.)

Ryan promised to bring more if I finish these, because I was being overly ambitious in my packing... The books were making my bag too heavy.

Anyways, that's all for now. All of these preliminary posts will mostly be to cure my own boredom. Off to Tokyo in an hour!
