Ciao! It's finally starting to get a bit cold here in Perugia, although we were really lucky all week with beautiful weather. The whole city is getting ready for the CHOCOLATE FESTIVAL (yaaaaay!) which starts this weekend. The whole city is going to be filled with massive amounts of people and toooooons of chocolate (hopefully lots of free chocolate?) I was talking to this Italian student in one of my classes, and apparently the residents of Perugia HATE the chocolate festival because of the massive amounts of crowds/tourists.

School is definitely becoming more and more stressful as the weeks go on...midterms are next week, and I have so so so much studying to do, especially in Italian. I felt like I was doing alright in that class for the first few weeks, but then we started moving so quickly and now I feel like I'm falling a little bit behind. It helps to have six other people that are all in the same class so we can help each other out. Speaking of the roommates, I never thought that I would enjoy living with so many people in such a small space. It is definitely one of my favorite parts about being here! Our apartment can get a little bit...chaotic..sometimes, but there really has yet to be any big issues. I love our "roomie nights" too.

Hmm...what else? Last weekend I went on a trip with the school and we travelled all over Tuscany and stayed in an authentic villa. It was soo incredible! Tuscany is absolutely beautiful. I felt like I was travelling through a postcard the whole time. It was supposed to storm all weekend, but the weather ended up being *perfect*. We visited the cities of Volterra, San Gimignano, Siena, and a little medieval town I can't remember the name of.. My favorites were San Gimignano and Siena. It was also great to be on a trip that was planned out for you...I have been in charge of planning almost every single trip I've gone on so far, so to not have to worry about any of the little details was wonderful. The only downfall of the trip was losing my cell phone...down a public toilet. haha, it fell into one of those hole-in-the-ground type nasty public bathrooms (that I had to PAY to use)...I tried to fish it out (grooossssss...) but it was a goner. So I had to flush it down the toilet, and now I'm waiting for phone numero tre to arrive. Let's just say technology and I have not gotten along since I stepped off the plane in Italy. Ohhhh well...

Anyway, I will post pictures from Tuscany...and pictures from the chocolate festival/perugia activities next week :) I miss everyone back home! If you get bored, send me an email and tell me whats new. I love hearing from back home.

xoxo
