Today was a very scary day!

Mary and Kathleen came to visit.  There was an impending snow storm but it was supposed to begin around 3 to 4 pm.  Mommy decided to go to Kmart in Watertown with Mary and Dziadziu to get some snow boots for her and me and then pick up some lunch at Oakville pizza for everyone.  Nothing was happening when they went into Kmart.  When they came out of Kmart, the ground was covered with snow and very slippery.  They went to pick up the food.  By this time, the roads were terrible.

They first tried taking the seven hills but didn't even get that far because therer were cars stuck.  Then, they turned around and tried to take Main Street.  No luck - completely backed up.  They then tried the seven hills again.  This time, at the bottom of one of the hills, they were stopped because two cars were stopped in front of them and then a truck lost control at the top of the hill and was spinning quickly towards them.  By some miracle, the truck slid into the snow bank and just missed their car.  They turned around and tried going route 63 and then 64 through MIddlebury.

They were doing very well until they were about 10 minutes from home when a tree was down along with live wires across the road.  They turned around and tried a short cut through Middlebury.  No luck, that road was closed too.  There was just one option left and that was to continue on 63 to 188.  Sadly, that road was closed too.  Mommy was terrified because Andre hadn't eaten in 2 hours and there was nothing for him to eat at home.  All options were exhausted and there was no way back home.  Mommy thought about walking so Dzidziu drove back to where there was a downed tree.  A man was there pulling branches off of it so the cars could fit under.  It was very unsafe but it was the only option.

They finally got home and Mommy was sooooo relieved to be able to nurse Andre.  Mary and Kathleen were able to get home too but it took several hours.  It was incredible how bad this storm was.
