Have spent the last 2 days in the city of Nuremberg, famous for its gingerbread, bratwurst sausages and Christmas markets, said to be the biggest and best in Germany.  Yesterday we visited the Kaiserburg, a castle dating from medieval times.  Also visited the Christmas markets and strolled through the old streets.  I didnt feel too well in the evening so stayed in while Bevan went out and enjoyed the Christmas festivities (and 1 or 2 bratwurst sausages).

Today we visited the German National Museum which was full of interesting antiquities including furniture, jewellery, clothing, burial items, tapestries, statues and artworks.  Lots of variety.  In the afternoon we did a spot of shopping then revisited the Christmas markets.  Theyve been the busiest markets we have visited so far.

Weather here has been quite chilly, temps at night close to zero degrees.  Tomorrow we are leaving for Berlin where we'll spend 2 nights.  Sorry unable to post any pics yet (don't ask - multiple snow photos somehow lost - Bevan's not a happy camper).
