This is going to be a quick written entry because it's taken me so long to get these pictures to upload and is costing me a fortune, apparently the south island isn't a fan of cheap internet! :s Oh well. Here's the Reader's Digest version:

Julia picked me up in Thames, I had a hard time leaving all the girls (damn meeting people you end up absolutely loving and having to leave with the likelyhood of never seeing them again!!), jumped into the rental we aptly named 'Rusty' (you can imagine why) and headed to Rotorua. On the way there we stopped in strange corrugated iron Tirau for lunch and some touristy pictures.

Rotorua was smelly as ever but since Dad, Jared and I didn't actually get to spend the night there it was nice to see the town itself. It's pretty and you get used to the smell after a couple hours. It was such a pleasant surprise to happen upon random steaming hot thermal pools in parks and being able to put your feet in.

Not to be distracted by the warmth, however, we headed the next day to Napier, art deco-lover heaven. It was incredible and I took way more pictures than I put up here. Sitting down for a coffee, I couldn't stop staring at all the buildings and feeling like I was in LA at some movie set. I was waiting for flapper dresses and men in suits to walk passed me, it would have looked more normal than the regularily dressed people did! I was definitely charmed by it and felt sad that I didn't know how lovely it was before then, I would have stayed there for a period of time! Alas, I end up saying that about a lot of places I've been seeing recently.

From Napier we chugged along to Wellington and cursed the lack of parking (downside to having a car!!) but the city itself was quite nice. Different areas/neighbourhoods all within walking distance though "Cuba" was my favourite. Julia and I met up with Natalia, the Argentinian that I'd met on the Stray Bus with Dad and Jared. Julia and I had an excellent night out in Wellington - I missed dancing!

(I have 5 minutes left so the rest of this is going to be really rushed.)

Ferry to the south island, BEAUTIFUL! Stayed in Nelson for a night, then headed to Franz Josef right away with a brief stop in Greymouth for lunch and the decision to keep going was made for fear of being too bored. The glacier in Franz Josef was phenomenal and I couldn't stop grinning stupidly the entire time we climbed it. Then onto Haast which was creepy in a motel-ax-murderer-lives-here sort of way and did Jackson Bay and now we're in Wanaka where Julia is paragliding and I am booking some bungy jumping in Queenstown for tomorrow.

Sorry this is so rushed! Enjoy the pictures.
Miss and love you all!
