So, after a 10+ hour plane ride, we arrived in Milan! The only scary part of the travel was when we were at our stop-over in London. They never announced our departure gate on the computer screens, so we started to freak out a little, then 10 minutes before our scheduled departure, decided to go talk to a customer service rep. - only to find out that our plane was minutes from take-off. Funny how they never decided to tell any of the passengers. We ran to our gate and noticed about 100 other people running with us.

So, we arrived at the beautiful Starhotel Anderson at around 8PM. Great hotel (see pictures). We went to a late dinner at a restaurant recommeded by Fodor's. Mark had lobster - I had risoto w/ pears - excellent!

Today, we toured around Milan. We visited the Duomo and climbed to the top to see a spectacular view of the city. Then we walked around, had lunch at a street-side cafe, and did some window shoping along the famous Via Montenapolone. That is where all of the top designers have their flagship stores - Gucci, Salvadore Faragammo, Via Spiga, Roberto Cavalli, etc.

All of the people in Milan are so beautiful. We were amazed at how everyone can walk around eating gellato all day and still stay so skinny!

We just came back from a traditional Milanese dinner of fried chops (any sort-of chop you can think of, you can have). We're going on a hunt for a bottle of wine! It's surprising how the streets are so quiet after 8PM...

Tomorrow - off to Venice!
