Then the fog comes in.. I light a fire and we roast wienies for dinner and just as we finish the rain starts again so that does it for the fire! Rains till we go to sleep!
Get woken up at 2am to a storm with lightening, thunder, high winds and pouring rain. Raining still when we get up and figure our day is washed out but it quits at 10am and the sun comes out. The staff find us a new spot for the rest of the long weekend and we happily move. Head into Camden to check it out. Camden is a great little village in a sheltered bay with a large harbor and lots of big boats! The setting is very pretty with a beautiful waterfall coming right out of the bottom of stores and into the bay to the delight of a bunch of birds (ducks, geese, herons, kingfishers, etc etc.). There are thousands of people in the harbor for the Festival and it is a very happening place. We try out Seafood Chowder in a contest and it is mostly very good! Watch a demonstration and information talk on Lobster fishing by a commercial fisherman and it is very interesting!. Then have a wonderful haddock taco from a stand on the bay and it is delicious! Tour a few of the Tall Ships and then head back to the campsite to sit in the sun for a few hours.
