Welcome to London where you are told constantly in the underground to "please mind the gap" and it costs 30p to pee! Somehow we found we had an extra day up our sleeves...the beauty of not planning everything I guess, so as Kevin had badly wanted to go into London for the day it worked out well. Caught the bus from Woodstock to Oxford and then the train into London Paddington station. Pleasant journey and nice to see the country side from a higher vantage point instead of looking at the endless hedges. Refreshing ourselves with the underground system took a little while but we soon got the hang of it...it's the most efficient way of getting from point A to B.
By 10am we were in Picadilly Circus and the wonderful memories of 3 years ago were fresh again! What a great city, one of the best in the world surely. We had no real plans, just wander and soak it all up again. Not so busy as last time as school is not out for the summer here yet, but still plenty of visitors. The countdown is on to the Olympics and I can only imagine what it will be like then.
We wandered to Big Ben, Downing Street where a protest was taking place, Parliament house, river Thames, London eye, Leicester square, all the monopoly names. Took the tube out to Knightsbridge and a visit for some retail therapy in Harrods.
What a great day and if we never get here again I consider myself very lucky to have visited twice.
Got back into Woodstock and time for yet another great meal at a local pub....half price champers tonight so time for a change of drink! Our last night in England .... Who knows if we will be back .... It has been a fantastic time.
To finish, thanks so much for comments posted - it's great to hear from you! And nice to know you are enjoying my blog. But ... As I have said if you get bored feel free to tune out!
Lovely to get any news from home though......Kevin not too homesick yet and as for me I don't think I will ever get homesick!

Kevy is just like Moo in the phone booth everyone we walked past she had to go in and say she was talking to granny in Australia. We are also loving the blog and the photos love the London ones, I did love it there. Hope you are feeling better and look forward to hearing the rest of the travel news.
