Where I stayed
Woodlands Farm B & B
Well a very rainy day, all day in fact. Summer it does not feel like, glad I brought my thick wooly scarf! We headed for Leominster which is one of several villages that have many Tudor style black and white houses....lovely!
Got to Stratford Upon Avon late morning and walked about the main streets and nearby river and canals in the rain. Very pretty town and main claim to fame is being the birthplace of Shakespeare. Not my bag really even though I studied Othello in school.....but they are cashing in big time in this town. We did go through the cottage of Anne Hathaway, wife of said famous playwright. Very pretty with a thatched roof and gorgeous garden, we really enjoyed seeing it and hearing about life in that time.
Went onto Oxford and after some debate and driving opted for original booking of farm house b and b....not great but a clean bed for the night and the owners were friendly enough. Finding it was a challenge but we got to Charlton on Otmour eventually.
Big day in the end and we were both feeling worse for wear with yucky head colds....time to dose up on the echinacea or euthanasia as Kevin insists on calling it!

Bad luck you are not feeling great hope the colds pass quickly. We loved Strafford on Avon not really a Shakespear person but went to his home etc and we all found it interesting. Love the pictures keep them coming.
I hope you two are feeling better and that the weather gets warmer for you. Love the commentary and photos, keep up the good work Beth. Enjoy Europe! xx
Thanks Di...it's actually hard work keeping the blog up to date but if you are enjoying it that's great. Switch off when bored! Hope I can maintain it for the rest of the trip .....when I get home it will all be done so that's a bonus. Wifi is readily available here and much much faster than at home.
