Our tent on the beach

So from Davis we headed East and drove up the coast to the Redwood National and State Parks.  Almost the entire Northern coast is some sort of park, state or national.  We decided it was time to rough it and decided to find a campground.  We set up camp in Gold Bluffs Beach campground right on the beach..unfortunately the weather wasnt the greatest and it was pretty overcast, which meant no stars.  Oh well, it was amazing falling asleep listening to the ocean next to us.  The rain couldnt hold out forever though, and started raining right after we made our smores.  We failed to read our tent information and the $30.00 target tent isnt exactly waterproof.  So we woke up to a little seeping of water into our sleeping bags...oh well, we wanted to rough it.  After trying to dry everything off and pack up the car, we continued up the coast to Oregon.  Finally we made it out of California....More to come later.....Love ya, Kara and Chris

hi chris and kara,
going to sleep and listening to the ocean sounds great! waking up to a wet sleeping bag does not.but like you said, you wanted to rough it and anyway that's what makes great memories of the adventure.one day you will say, remember the time on our trip when? as always, i love you both and wish for your continued happiness on your travels.
