After getting back to Aunt Isabel's from Death Valley, we packed up the car and were off again on to Joshua Tree National Park....Inspired by one of my favorite albums, The Joshua Tree (U2) we decided we had to make the trip down to see the park.  On the way, we were kinda dragging...I was falling asleep as Chris was driving...but he woke me up at this GREAT restaurant...The Mad Greek in Baker, CA.  Knowing that Greek is one of my favorite foods he had to stop and we re-fueled with some great gyros.  We were wide awake and ready to hit the park after that.  Inside the park, there are just a ton of Joshua Trees in the middle of crazy piles of huge rocks.  Very cool. We did a few little nature hikes around the park, and went to see Barker Dam. This was a dam made by the early ranchers in the area to create a little oasis in the middle of the desert for their cattle to drink from.  The drive through the park was nice, all the wildflowers are blooming right now and were very pretty.  We hiked up to the top of a big rock to watch the sun set and relax a bit.  We wanted to stay in the park to see the stars, which we heard were amazing...but it was a full moon yesterday and according to one park ranger, it was gonna be so bright the stars werent that great. So next time we are out here I hope its a new moon so I will get the chance to see the amazing stars there.  Instead of camping for another night, it was only a 2 hour drive to Chris' grandmothers house in Covina, CA...so being Easter we decided to just drive to her house so we could spend the holiday relaxing with her.  Will write more in a few days after we relax for a bit....Happy Easter....Kara and Chris
