Well we got into Houston around 4:30pm and decided to take a look at the city.....pretty much the same as any other city, big tall buildings, cabs, traffic and nice restaurants.  We stopped at a place called Sambuca's.  We found it in the travel book and saw that it was cheap and quick.  When we got inside we were wondering how it was cheap because it was so nice inside.  Not really appropriate that we walked in with driving clothes on (Jeans and a T-Shirt).  Oh well it was half off app's and $2 beers.  Gotta love the south. The picture of the 2222.2 is how many miles we traveled so far on our trip, and the picture of the traffic is the traffic going into the city instead of going out of the city at 5:30 on a Friday....It is Friday right?  We are about to get into Austin now and will be there till Sun afternoon.  We hope you all have a good weekend, I know we will!

Howdy!
Hey Chris and Kara, Richard and Jennifer here...

Just got caught up on your adventures to date and wanted to tell you how jealous we are of the fun you are having! Some of us had to get jobs and start working after school :(

Hope you have a great rest of your trip and keep posting the pictures and the entries so those of us in the daily grind can travel vicariously :)

Have a great time, Richard and Jennifer

72 oz. steak
Hey, have you come across all the 72 oz. steak billboard signs in Texas? If you can eat the whole thing, it's free... DON'T DO IT! It's windy and rainy here in Reston, VA... Looks like the two-a-you's have escaped bad weather. Brent is on his way back from Nicaragua. I'm anxious to hear about his missions trip. You kids keep having fun... take it all in... and laugh alot! I love you both, Mom

Supporting my lunchtime internet
I figured since you two take the time out of the tour to update us, you do deserve a little bit of feedback.

I heart the travel blog. It is great lunchtime reading in my world of responsibilities.

Sounds like it is a blast. Be well, drive safe and write on!

Italian after dinner drink
Did your hotel offer you a Sambuca? It is an Italian after dinner drink. If not you can taste mine when you get back. Keep the blog going, I know more about what you're up to than ever before. Fun!

The 72 ouncer
Hey kid's was I wrong? Austin is cool isn't it? You should try to go to some clubs while you are there. Really good music comes out of Austin. To get that 72 ouncer I talked about earlier and yo MAMA mentioned you gotta go north to Amarrilo ON I 40. Don't go out of your way for this because as I said earlier it looks and tastes like a boot. How I know what a boot tastes like is a whole different story. Have fun.

Golf or something like it.
Hey Chris, I forgot to mention I played a round of golf with your Dad here in Ca.today. WE SUCK! There were gale force winds but we still had some fun. Yo papa birdied right off the bat. We had some breakfast afterwards and then your dad had to leave for the airport. Kara,Is Chris behaving himself?

72 Oz Meat
Hey guys, ya gotta love Uncle Buck's description of that bad boy 72 oz steak. Sounds like you could just get 'er to go and snack all the way up the lone star state. Oh, by the way, all road kill is acceptable here in CO. Just keep 'em semi cool and will fix it up when ya get here. Really, lots of wildlife so drive safe. Can't wait to see ya. Spring skiing anyone??
