We just came back from our morning walk on the beach. The kids were overjoyed that they got to see seaturtles bopping in and out of the waves this morning. I have to say this town has got me saying , " I heart turtles!"
Yesterday, we decided to set up on the beach downtown, Akumal. I've scoped it out before and noticed lots of families and my kids wanted to play. Mission accomplished. We met a nice family that had a daughter only a week apart from ours. Her name was Kaya and we discovered she is staying in the condo next door! Yay! Julia and her ran in and out of the water all day and Tommy had fun in his spiderman raft checking out Angel fish.
Afterwards, Shane and I decided we need some time away from the kids. It just so happened that the German/Dutch locals that we became friends with have two daughters that were eager to watch our kids. The kids loved them and Tommy was sure his new lady friends each got a hug and I love you guys! Shane and I just relaxed ate a little, drank a little and took an amazing walk along the shore.
When we got home we decided to take the kids for ice cream downtown, LUCYS. We walked. Big mistake! on our way home the clouds opened up and drenched us with tropical rain; however, our little Dora and Diego thought it was awesome. We thought we were coconuts!
Well, so long for now...signing off from this sandy, tropical beach so we can start our new journey today.
(below I created a video for my parents... When I was a child they went off to Hawaii with family friends and they left us behind with our Dutch relatives. However, they made a video for my brothers and I and on it my Mom got nervous. She rambled on and on about the banana plants...so here is my version for them. enjoy! lol)
