First of the cities/towns that we visited during on Alaska road trip back in 2002.
Because of this, and as it was a more typical Alaskan ‘weather’ day – overcast and intermittent rain we did not go to the Mendenhall Glacier and instead climbed the hills to view the Governor’s House and a number of the older homes of Juneau.
We also found the shops and bought Toothpaste --- don’t ask.
In spite of the weather we had an enjoyable time in this unique capital city. Yes … Juneau is the capital of Alaska and the only capital in the Union that CANNOT be reached by road.
