In all of my life the Trans Canada Highway has never been flooded in this area from swollen creeks.  Today the highway is closed from Dunmore  (just outside of Medicine Hat) to the Saskatchewan border.  If our trip was starting today, we would have had to take a detour several hours north!
This weekend we were going to take our trailer out as a full family for the first time to Elkwater.  The highway to Elkwater and all other access roads to the Provincial Park were closed due to flooding.  The main campground there is under water!
