Bon jour

I have been so busy lately finishing my projects for my photography program at Speos. The director of my school asked if I would like to make my "Contacts" series a traveling exhibition. So, I have another photography show on May 19 at a Italian restraunt near my school, which will be the after party for the big end of school exhibition of our work. Brea's mom came and stayed with us for two weeks at the beginning of this month. We had a great time showing her around Paris. I have been looking for work as a photographer in Paris and NYC for the summer, but we just decided yesterday that we will be moving to NYC on June 5. I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. It has been an amazing experience. Brea and I are both ready to make the big move so we can start making some real money. Our lease on our apartment doesn't end until August and you have to give three months notice if you want to break your contract, but we found a loop hole in the French system. France protects the renters more than the owners, so if you are moving for a job or you are unemployed you just give a letter to the landlord one month in advance and you get your deposit back in full and are allowed by law to break your lease. This helps us out so much. Most landlords here like renting to Americans and international students because 1. they usually have lots of money and 2. they don't know the French laws so it's easier to make them pay extra rent. Luckily, I have a very smart wife who did a bit of research and found this out for us. Last night I worked for le Figaro taking photos for the Paris premier of I love Huckabees, which was a strangely bizarre yet enjoyable movie. Most of the movie premiers in Paris are at least 3-6months after their release in the States. So it's probably out on DVD in the states right now.
