bonjour

i have been back in paris for two weeks now after visiting friends and family for two weeks in austin and temple, texas. we had a new years eve bash at my parents house in temple, texas. it was so much fun...my dad was shooting off fireworks left and right in the middle of the neighborhood and by our house. we had a great time seeing everyone. i went out to my friend pat's ranch with joey, my other friend, and took some great black and white photos. his grandfather was the mayor of temple and their family has owned the land for generations. i'll try to post some photos on my next entry. brea and i are planning a trip to venice, italy for the carnival festival. i can't wait to see all the costumes and masks and ride throught the canals on the gondolas. i am going to take some great photos while i'm there. paris is still cold, but the sun has been shining which makes me happy. at least now we are prepared for the cold, now that we have our new winter clothes from christmas. we went to buddha bar last week, a very expensive, trendy and fashionable place for both locals and tourists alike. there is a huge 30 foot buddha in the main dining room of the place, with dim lighting and great music. even if we paid $20.00 a drink, we had a great meal and celebrated our one year and a half wedding anniversary. i recommend the prix fix, fixed price, curry plate if you go. i've been doing a lot of fashion shoots since i've been back, still working for the agency and building my portfolio...and on tuesday i am taking photos for a big staff party for le figaro newspaper at bains douches, a famous nightclub. we have been experimenting in the kitchen lately and tonight we made a mean and spicy stir fry, better than some of the chinese takeouts we have had here in paris. we are pretty much experts now at stove top cooking, considering we don't have a microwave, much less a george foreman grill! other than that we are settling back in to our humble abode, going back to work and school and enjoying our time here in paris. merry christmas and happy new years to all!
