Crikey !!!!! Went to the Australia Zoo today, 'Home of the Crocodile Hunter', and it was well worth the 52 dollars each. We got to pet Kangaroo's ( and walk around in a grassy field with them), Wallabies, a Crocodile (small one, really but still it was a Croc! 2 years old I think), and a Koala, ( yay!!!!) WOW, it was really cool. We took so many pictures it isn't even funny. The Zoo is really big and had lots to see, including a section on snakes, and let me tell you, there are a lot of poisonous snakes in Australia, in fact out of 20 snakes, only 3 were not!!! We saw dingos, elephants, camels, tigers, weird looking birds, and tasmanian devils, a really lively one! The crocodlie show (in the "Crocoseum") was pretty neat, and they had birds flying around, and snakes, and of course a crocodile. It was cool watching it feed! (they did a good job with the zoo in general, they have made all the areas very similar to the animals original enviroments, with large inclosures)
We went to IGA and got some groceries and are staying the night at Ocean View Tourist park, there is no ocean view so I don't know where it got it name from, maybe the street we are on is ocean veiw or something? (Actually I think you can sorta see the ocean but it is soooo rainy we can barely see 1 meter from the van! At least that is what the brochure showed) We are in site 3 and unfortunatly it is raining, but we are prepared and it is nice inside the campervan! (Skip-Bo or crib anyone??)
We had hotdogs, salad and baked beans for dinner, we are totally camping!! (at least we had salad!) Tomorrow is my birthday (you all are invited to the party...I beleive we will be at Rainbow Beach or Noosa) and I am looking forward to it, it is nice to be on vacation and we are having a great time together!
( Also tomorrow we are going to stop by the Big Pineapple! Wooooo...I guess all over OZ they have extremely large statues of "things" banana, pineapple, marlin, macadamia nut, mangerine, ned kelly, peanut, koala and the list can go on!!! So we are going to try and stop at all of them and see how many we can get to)
Hopefully the rain will let up a little in the next couple of days, that will make it nicer :)
