April 15th (I'm here too...you just can't get rid of me!!)

Next was Nha Trang. (about a 12 hours overnight bus..yuck) and it kind of reminds me a little of Hawaii, or Florida. It has a long beach of tan coloured sand in a slight cresent moon shape (with parks and walkways on the same side as the beach, separating from the road) and with hotels all along the beach (on the other side of the road) like soldiers on parade. We opted for a guest house 1 street back from the beach and paid considerably less.(no view = our budget )
We spent the next couple of days relaxing on the beach, (so nice) with a couple side trips. One to the market, and it was definitly an asian market. A large circlular building with endless shops inside and out. We were looking for a beard trimmer, but nothing like it exists in Vietnam, as we found out with 2 hours of searching. (the market was wicked! it had just huge amounts of everything, like fabric, jewelery, sunglasses, seafood, clothes, drugstore stuff, trinkets, etc) We did get a wonderful bamboo mat that has proved invaluable on the beach, in Nha Trang and definitly here on Koh Chang.(I really wanted to get a bottle of the Nha Trang Fish Sauce but thought twice about travelling with it. That would be the most horrific smell if it broke in our bags! Peeeewww!)

Our other trip was snorkeling, which was Kylies first time !! I didn't beleive it, but true.(yes it is!) We would have gone diving as it was $40 dollars each for 2 dives, (cheap cheap) but we both had head colds from the (stupid) air conditioning. Snorkeling was $15 each, and was wonderful !! The weather was perfect, a little overcast, the water was warm, and the coral was beautiful !! (They provided fresh fruit on the boat and then lunch afterwards too.)
(Nha Trang was definitley nice but totally a travellers hang out. There were bars everywhere, resaurants, diving stores, etc. Not many historic sites to say the least. oh well, we are travelling so we hung out!! :)
