Arriving in Sweden again was a breath of fresh air and so nice to see our good friends, Henrik and Lillemor again. We met their kids, Tilda 4 and Erik 2, for the first time also. The first few days we hung out at their house and enjoyed Lillemor's cooking - she spoiled us with celebrating a different Swedish holidays at each meal.
The first weekend, Henrik and Lillemor had a wedding of a good friend, so we took a train to Copenhagen for a couple days. We explored the city a bit, took the harbor cruise and saw a movie.
Back in Sweden, the kids went to stay with Henrik's parents and the four of us took off for southern Sweden. We enjoyed the rural country, stopped at an apple orchard, toured a castle, went hiking and ate some yummy food. The weather wasn't as nice as we were hoping (no swimming), but nevertheless it was nice to be by the ocean again.
Our last few days were spent at Henrik's grandparents' cabin, Ekviken. They have a cabin on a lake which has flooded with all of the rain Sweden has gotten this summer. The water was half way up the front lawn which made for less room for kubb (our favorite swedish lawn game) and lots of mosquitoes. So, we had our meals inside and doused ourselves with bug-spray while playing kubb.
