24 hours in Singapore. I tried to do as much as possible for this limited time and I think I did pretty well. Started in Bangsar where I caught the First Coach bus to Singapore. It was really convenient. The journey took about 5 hours and even the immigration went really fast. Perhaps because we went through the second link. The bus stopped at Novena Square. There's an MRT station there and it was easy to get around. Didn't do anything that night cause it was late. Went straight to a cs place and slept.
So the day in Singapore started with a trip to MacRitchie Reservoir and Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. This is as much nature as you can get in Singapore. They have a small man made lake (reservoir) where you can kayak, but nothing spectacular. You can also walk in the small jungle. The trails were easy, well-marked and clean. Even when you were walking in the jungle there you can still see tall buildings in the distance and hear the traffic nearby. Monkeys, birds and small snakes can be spotted every now and again. You don't really come to Singapore for its nature so this was not bad.
After lunch, it was time to see the city. It was a typical hot afternoon, but a good opportunity to take some nice pictures of this concrete jungle. Very clean and the buildings were impressive. The shopping malls were a nice retreat from the blazing sun, but one thing that really caught my attention was how fast their escalators move. I had to really watch my step. People in this city move really fast! Finally, had dinner in one of the restaurants by the river and watched as the day slowly turned to night. Next time, I'd like to visit the Singapore Flyer and maybe Universal Studios.
