Our night at the bumbun was rough. There were rats terrorizing the place and sleeping on hard wooden bed was not easy but we knew what we were in for. Woke up early, had quick brekkie of bread with peanut butter and jam (luxurious!), then pack up. We had to walk back to Kuala Trenggan and wait for a boat to take us up to Kuala Keniam. Honestly after trekking every day for 4 straight days, I wasn't really looking forward to this walk. The 2km walk seemed so long.

While waiting for the boat, we explored the abandoned chalets. Most of the chalets were still furnished. It looked as if they were attacked by something and just left everything behind. Boat came at 11:00am and off we go up the river to Kuala Keniam. It was a long 1 hour boat trip and as usual it was lovely. We went through some rapids (not too scary tho), and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

I was looking forward to do some fishing here. The boat guy brought a fishing rod. As soon as we arrived, I raced to find a fishing spot but only after about 20 minutes I was over it. Not very nice place, lots of logs in the river and my hook got stuck all the time. No fish, lost a hook. There's a permanent camp from one of the local university here at Kuala Keniam. They have clean water, so I took the chance to have a nice refreshing bath and rinse all my smelly clothes. We had some snacks and left the place early. Felt like we just wasted a boat ride here for nothing. On the way back to Kuala Trenggan, we stopped somewhere along the river to swim for a while then finally the boat guy dropped us back at Kuala Trenggan around 4:30pm.

We found a nice spot to set up our tent not far from the abandoned chalets. We gather firewoods, but mostly I just took them from the chalets. Not sure if this was okay but nobody here to tell me otherwise. As the night came, we put on the fire and start making dinner. We brought some sausages and still had leftover bread. So dinner was fire grilled sausages with bread. Spent the night just looking at the fire and enjoy the sounds of the jungle. Finally went to sleep after we ran out of firewoods.
