We met our group members today---Essam, the group leader introduced us to the rest---Sue, Kelly, Lex, Warren, Lisa, Evon, Angela, Christina and Julia---from Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Essam went through the do's and don'ts, the itinerary and other details.
then we went to visit one of the oldest mosques and the biggest bazaar market in Cairo. Did not buy anything---no need to bargain.
The group went out for dinner------delicious Egyptian food---Anjulia tried the sheesha---water pipe
NOTE---this key board is killing me. The capital letter key and the upper case key do not work properly..................
Try to post some pictures...............
BRIEF UDATE ON LAST FEW DAYS
Nov. 23, Sunday
Wisked to Alexandria upon arrival------crazy driving here---China drivers pale to these maveriks. Instead of normal 3 hours, it took us almost 6 hours to get there due to HEAVY HEAVY traffic. The faint hearted no need to apply your driving license.
Hotel New Capri---2 stars---provided very basic accomodation.
Nov. 24, Monday
Toured the magnificent Alexandria Library------biggest in the world.
Roman amphitheatre and the catacomb---amazing ancient burial ground.
And the citadel where once the mighty light house was built------it was destroyed and was one of the 7 of the ancient wonders.
Nov. 25, Tuesday
Visited the Montazah---beautiful Palestine Hotel
Then we came back to Cairo
Nov.26, Wednesday
Saw Sakkara pyrimid-------the very first step pyrimid------impressive and jaw dropping architecture
Dahshur pyrimid---the very first true pyimid---AWESOME
Also visited the old capita of ancient Egypt---Memphis---saw the huge remains of Ramses 2 statue.
Sorry for the brief update without much explanation...do better next time.

Hi travellers! Sounds like you're enjoying your dream holiday, despite a bit of tummy trouble. I guess you'll be heading into Jordan soon, too bad we never made it with Foxy this summer. Next time. We'll be waiting at Ottawa airport for you to pick you up, winter coats at hand... i heard it's -15 today there! Don't worry, we'll do the shovelling before you get back. Be safe and BARGAIN HARD!
are you lost??
what happened? are you ok? where are you, still in Cairo? Please update soon! ;p
